Two faculty members are joining Chancellor Clement C. Camposano’s administration in UP Visayas effective November 1, 2020. They are Prof. Nieves Toledo who will serve as University Registrar and Prof. Julie Prescott who will serve as Director of the Information and Publications Office.
Prof. Nieves Toledo is a homegrown graduate of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. She received further training at Kagoshima University (MS Fisheries) as a Japanese Ministry of Education scholar and has also served as a board member and officer of the Philajames- Visayas (Philippine Association of Japanese Ministry of Education Scholars). Prof. Toledo is a well-published researcher. She began her career with SEAFDEC and later joined CFOS as a faculty member. She has been an Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor for Administration and has been involved in various academic committees, including curriculum committees and the academic personnel and fellowship committee. She has served as CFOS College Secretary for the past six years.
Julie Prescott is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Visayas where she teaches Literature, Film, and Communications. She is an experienced debater and public speaker. Aside from teaching, her professional career has covered work in marketing and management for numerous prominent international institutions such as the O2 Telecommunications, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC UK), CARE UK, the National Health Service (NHS), and GAZPROM Energy to name a few.
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of the Philippines Visayas in 2008 and completed her Master’s Degree in Literature and Film at the Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016.
