Why do we have the Office Of Alumni Relations?

The Office Of Alumni Affairs created under the Office Of the Chancellor serves as a link between the Alumni and the rest of the academic community. The office helps cultivate and strengthen the bond between the University and its valued Alumni in the Philippines and from all over the world. It helps foster a sense of belongingness in its alumni by actively seeking their involvement in the affairs of the University and their participation in and support of its pursuits and undertakings in the fulfillment of the University's mission. The Office together with the Chancellor, plays a major role in implementing System-wide fund raising schemes as well as in undertaking fund raising activities appropriate to the needs of the UP in the Visayas.

What are the services offered by the UPVOAR
(UPV Office Of Alumni Relations)

UPVOAA provides the following services for Alumni

• Provide the alumni chapters and alumnus/alumna with the available listing of UP alumni in the Visayas solely for the purpose of participation in Chapter-sponsored activities that will best serve the interest of the University
• Assist in the dissemination of information among the intended cleintele regarding activities organized by the respective alumni chapters through broadcast media and the internet using the UPVOAR website: http://www.upv.edu.ph/upvalumniaffairs
• Disseminate pertinent information regarding University activities, plans, programs, and projects
• Facilitate requests for use of University facilities intended for alumni activities
• Arrange for University tours, briefings, and/or orientations if, and when requested by alumni
• Facilitate requests of alumni for the processing of transcript of records, clearances, honorable dismissal, certificate of good moral character and diploma
• Assist the chapters in identifying speakers, resource persons that will be needed for conferences, seminars, lecture fora, and symposia if and when requested by the alumni
• Help campaign for membership and attendance to yearly Homecoming
• Prepare Memorandum of Understanding and donation papers
• Facilitate requests for venues and meetings for alumni reunions and homecoming held at the University premises
• Engage in fund raising projects involving the alumni; and
• Perform other alumni-related functions assigned by the Chancellor
